Up-cycled Army Surplus Tie

Not an army tie but a reconstructed, recycled, transformation of an English Army puttee. Beautifully stitched and constructed from wool flannel and antique ribbon, this is an extraordinary and iconoclastic tie. Every one will be slightly different and from a limited edition of 144.

These ties are up-cycled from original British Army puttees. These are lengths of cloth that were worn wrapped around ankles and calves to protect from snakes and other nasties. Originally made in Australia, from Australian wool these puttees have never been used. They are however around 75 years old so whilst the wool will be pretty much as new, the original labels will inevitably have some signs of ageing, as you would after 75 years... Nevertheless anyone with the nerve and chutzpah to wear this tie will consider this a sign of authenticity, rather than a fault ;-)
